Our Wedding

We're thrilled to invite you to celebrate our wedding on the isle of Møn in southern Denmark.

Our wedding blessing will take place in Damsholte Kirke, next to the farm where Cat/Katie's family has lived (on and off) since 1980. We'll celebrate with a Lutheran blessing featuring readings and hymns in both Danish and English.

After the ceremony, we look forward to celebrating with your at Ellevilde Boutique Hotel on eastern Møn, about 20km from Damsholte. Join us for an evening of great company, good food and dancing!

It is about 20km from the reception venue. There is parking for approximately 15-20 cars at the church and more at Marienborg, which is a 5-10 minute walk from the church along a dirt path between two fields.

Reception

When

25th July 2026, 17:00 - 01:00

Where

Ellevilde Boutique Hotel, Dalsgårdsvej 2, Borre, 4791, Denmark

Following the ceremony at Damsholte Kirke, please join us at Ellevilde Boutique Hotel for our reception celebration. There will be a sit-down meal with wine and champagne provided. A cash bar will be available afterwards.

There will be a vegetarian menu available with the meal. Please let us know of any dietary requirements and/or allergies when you RSVP. We regret that the venue cannot accommodate kosher or halal meals.

Travel & Transport

We strongly recommend renting a car for your travels to and around Møn. While you can rely on public transport in Copenhagen or between cities,  Møn is rural and there is limited public transport on the island. You can, however, reach the nearest big town (Vordingborg) by train and carpool from there.

Directions from Copenhagen airport:
 - Exit the airport at the roundabout, to the E20 to København/Dragør.
 - Drive South on E20 and E47/E55 (105 km).
- After about 60 km the freeway splits. Chose the right lanes to E47/E55 with signs for Rødby/Gedser (NOT the left/straight ahead for E20 Odense) .
-  After the 105km heading south, you will reach the two Farø bridges. These connect Zealand to the southern islands.
 - Take exit 42-Farø after the first bridge.  Exit ramp continues into Grønsundvej/Rute 287. This means you turn off before you reach the second bridge with the diamond-shaped suspensions.
- Continue 18 km to Damsholte. You will cross small islands and causeways (Farø and Bogø). Don't worry! You are on the right track--just keep following the road to Møn.
-In Damsholte, the church is on your left as you come over the little hill and enter the village.
The wedding ceremony can be reached by train + bus from Copenhagen. This will take ~3 hours, with trains and buses hourly (i.e. if you miss a connection, you'll be waiting an hour!).

Directions to wedding ceremony venue (Damsholte Kirke)
From Copenhagen Central Station:
- Take regional train south towards Nykøbing Falster, at 8 minutes past the hour (e.g. 9.08am, 10.08am).  Get off at Vordingborg Station (ca. 1 hour).
- At Vordingborg, exit train station and you will see bus terminal directly outside station.
- Take bus 664 towards Stege (yellow). Get off at Damsholte Kirke (Grønsundvej). Do NOT take bus 662 towards Stege, this will take you by a different route and you will not pass the church at all!
-
When you step off the bus, turn right. Go up the slight hill (~100m) and church will be on your right, across the street.

From wedding ceremony to wedding reception:
Public transport on Møn is very limited, with hourly buses only on main roads. So, we do not recommend this option. If you do choose this, then:

- Go to gravel parking lot of church, turn left. You will almost immediately see the bus stop shelter.
- Take bus 664 to Stege from Damsholte Kirke. Get off at Stege Rutebilstation (Rtb., ie bus terminal) at end of the line.
- Wait and take bus 667  from same Stege bus terminal towards Klintholm Havn. Get off at Nørrebyvej (Klintevej)
- Walk 15min (1km) westwards along Klintevej (back the way you came).
- Turn right on Dalsgårdsvej and you will see Ellevilde Hotel immediately on your right.
Fly to Copenhagen Airport (CPH, also called Kastrup Lufthavn). This is by far the closest airport and the main airport in Denmark with the best connections. Do NOT fly to Billund, Aalborg or other places--these are all in Jutland. Fly to these places only if you wish you spend a few days in Jutland.

From the UK and Paris, Norwegian Air often fly reasonable budget flights with slightly better conditions than Easyjet or Ryanair (fewer hidden fees). From the US, best deals vary. Check www.skyscanner.net and momondo.com.

Tips about Denmark

The following sections offer suggestions for what to do and eat on Møn, in Copenhagen and in Jutland.

Denmark is a cool place to visit, and we recommend you take a few days to explore.  If it is your first time, consider visiting Møn and Copenhagen. If you've seen those already, head to Jutland.

It is also expensive. Expect to pay 80 USD/65 GBP for a mid-range meal without drinks; 8 USD/6.5 GBP for a good coffee; 27 USD/20 GBP for standard museum entries.  Taxes are always included in the price.

Tipping is NOT expected. Danish wait staff do not rely on tips to complete their wages like they do in the US. You may see "service charges" added in some restaurants or for large groups, which are similar to tips. You may see a tip jar ("drikkepenge") in cafes, but this for when you're feeling nice or have some loose change. Only tip for truly exceptional service.
